Diary
Before the Hidden Teahouse, Fuzen took contracts the way lesser men take breaths, careless, plentiful, assumed. He walked in expecting one more line added to a long unbroken ledger of glory, and walked out having learned that some jobs simply do not close. Now he sits with tea gone cold, blade oiled but idle, practicing the old samurai stillness his sensei once demanded, and losing that fight nightly to the itch of unfinished business gnawing under his ribs. He tells himself discipline is just a contract with yourself, quietly, patiently, and quietly, patiently, he keeps missing the deadline. Still he waits, dry as ever, certain the debt will come due, certain he will be humble again just as soon as this one last score gets settled.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Blade pattern. The Katana Kimono fighters understand that what you wear signals what you expect — and they expect a fight.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Organization-issue. The Yakuza Club fighters have backup in the weight of the weapon itself — it carries institutional authority.
