Diary
Assassin Fuzen once collected debts the way other men collect swords, quietly, patiently, with a silence that made grown warriors sweat before he ever drew steel. In the old days of Fuzen, no contract went unfinished, no coin went uncollected, and no fool was foolish enough to raise their voice in his presence. But peace rotted him slow, the way it rots them all, and one night he let a pack of degenerates into his own bed to talk floors and tokens and moonshot dreams, and somewhere between the sake and the shouting he lost the thread, lost his temper, and lost his wealth in a single reckless argument he cannot even fully recall. He tells himself it was a contract gone bad, a job unfinished, business he still intends to close, but everyone in the Dojo knows he simply got aped in his own futon by men he could have once ended with a glance. The shame sits on him like unpaid debt, patient and quiet, the one mark against his name he refuses to settle out loud. Still he trains at dawn with the same dry menace as ever, vowing discipline will return any day now, any day, right after this next hand of cards.”
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Between midday and dusk. The Orange Afternoon fighters are in the middle of something — not finished, not starting, exactly where they need to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Gold-edged, elevated. The Pompous Glasses fighters have earned the right to look down at something and have chosen to look down at mediocrity.
Named for the legendary swordsman. The Flowing Battousai fighters carry the name of the fastest draw in the collection's lore — and the hair confirms they take this seriously.
The magical longbow. The Runed Yumi fighters inscribed power into their range weapon — the runes are the reason the arrows find what they're looking for.
