Assassin Fuzen once climbed Misty Mountain with the quiet patience of a man who finishes what he starts, offering his arm to an old woman whose knees had given out on the fog-slick stair. The wind chose that exact moment to betray him, and what should have been a gesture of honor became a stranger wearing his spit like an insult, a debt Fuzen still considers technically unpaid and fully his fault. He never apologized, not out of cruelty but because the contract for that particular shame never quite closes in his ledger, and some men carry unfinished business the way others carry swords. These days he keeps a dim, crooked gambling den at the mountain's foot, dealing crooked hands with the same unhurried calm he once reserved for killing blows, telling himself daily that tomorrow he'll return to discipline, sit in meditation, maybe find that old woman and make it right. Tomorrow arrives, the dice come out instead, and Fuzen loses that particular fight again, patient as ever, quietly amused at his own ruin.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
The hour when most give up. The Blue Evening fighters are still at their desk, still watching the chart, still holding.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Still learning. The Student Gi fighters are the most dangerous in the Dojo — they have no habits yet, no fixed patterns, no ceiling.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Clean but rough. The White Ruffian fighters look like they could have behaved properly and chose not to. The white makes the choice more visible.
The floor weapon. Everywhere. Common because common is honest — the Rusty Nail fighters know that what you find is often better than what you planned.
