Assassin Fuzen used to close contracts the way other men close doors, quietly, permanently, without a draft left behind. The day it ended, he was kneeling in the garden, raking gravel into lines so straight they could have been drawn by a shogun's ruler, while his master screamed about a botched job loud enough to wilt the chrysanthemums. Fuzen said nothing. He kept raking, kept his breathing slow as a held blade, and let the shouting pass over him like weather that had nowhere else to go. When the tirade finally burned itself out and his master stormed off to fire him in writing, the rest of the Dojo realized they had just watched a man get unemployed with more composure than most fighters show winning a title, and something like respect settled over the courtyard, thick as the gravel dust. These days Fuzen still hasn't finished that rake line, still hasn't cashed the last contract he never closed, and he tells anyone who asks that patience is just violence you haven't gotten around to yet.
Simple. Carved. Someone made this by hand. The Wooden Loop fighters wear something made, not bought, and consider that a statement worth making.
Lived-in color. The Warm Grey background belongs to fighters who have been through enough that their edges have softened without their core changing.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The dragon lives on the body now. The Dragon Head Tattoo fighters carry their ambition on the surface — it's not hidden, and it's not a metaphor.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Gold-edged, elevated. The Pompous Glasses fighters have earned the right to look down at something and have chosen to look down at mediocrity.
The Dojo's version of a mohawk. More specific, more named. The Dejen Mohawk fighters chose the Dojo's interpretation of rebellion over the generic one.
Fermented projectile. The Beer Splash fighters found the most abundant thing in the Dojo and weaponized it.
