Diary
There was a contract on Mount Koriyoka once, one simple line item, one wild boar, and Assassin Fuzen closed it clean the way he closed everything back when his hands still remembered discipline instead of just holding things. The boar dropped, the mountain went quiet, and something in Fuzen that had been holding its breath for years finally exhaled and never quite inhaled right again. He tells people he retired that day, but retirement implies an ending, and Fuzen has never finished anything since, not the boar's memory, not his third attempt at a morning routine, not the joint he keeps meaning to only half-smoke before practicing his forms. He still moves like a blade with unfinished business, patient, unhurried, dry as old paper, but the only thing he's stalking lately is the bottom of a bag of edibles and the ghost of the man who used to floor targets instead of couches. Ask him if he's disciplined now and he'll go quiet the way contracts go quiet right before they never close, which is to say: technically pending, forever.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Half the statement. The Skull Sleeve fighters communicate their philosophy in one arm — the other arm is for whatever needs doing next.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Organization meets chaos. The Yakuza Hooligan fighters have discipline from one tradition and abandon from another, and they've combined them into something entirely their own.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
