Haru tells it like a punchline every single time, complete with a wink and a little jazz-hands flourish: how he marched up the wooden steps of Kiyomizu-Dera swearing he'd help every tottering grandmother across that famous slick stone, how his knees turned to soggy tofu the second an actual elderly hand gripped his wrist and trusted him with her whole fragile weight. He froze mid-bow to a ninety-year-old obaachan, blade hand shaking, samurai training screaming at him to be steady while his stomach did the kind of backflip usually reserved for bad edibles, and somehow he still managed to grin through it, because grinning is the only jutsu he never forgets. The Dojo elders did not find the grin charming when they heard he'd let go, sending said grandmother into a very undignified stumble toward the koi pond, and out the gate he went, robes and all, cheerfully insisting
Heavier than gold. Less prestigious. More honest. The Iron Earring fighters chose function over signal and consider that to be the signal.
Red moon, heightened stakes. The Red High Moon backgrounds mark the moments when everything was on the line and the fighter stayed.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Named for something specific. The Cet Kimono fighters know what they're wearing and why — the rest is for others to figure out.
The man who decided grinning was braver than breaking. He held a line so long his smile became the squad's good-luck charm; now he beams through the wreckage of peacetime, a very tired samurai behind the widest smile in the Dojo.
Fox face. The Kitsune Mask fighters wear the shapeshifter's face — which means every identity is available to them and none is fixed.
The Dojo's version of a mohawk. More specific, more named. The Dejen Mohawk fighters chose the Dojo's interpretation of rebellion over the generic one.
The magical longbow. The Runed Yumi fighters inscribed power into their range weapon — the runes are the reason the arrows find what they're looking for.
