Fat Bob never asked for the name, but forty years of proving the world right seemed easier than fighting it, so he leaned into the belly and the grin and let folks underestimate him at their own peril. He told himself afterward, nursing a joint and a black eye with equal tenderness, that tomorrow he'd wake up at dawn like the old dojo days, katas before coffee, no more late-night brawls over blackjack. Tomorrow never came, but the ninja never came back either, and Fat Bob figured that was as close to honor as a true degen gets.
