Fatty Bobsticks will tell anyone within earshot that he is nothing like Fat Bob, thank you very much, even as he sits beneath the same drooping sakura branches his old man once claimed as personal property. It was under those very blossoms that he and Legless Tom cracked open the good sake, toasted to discipline reclaimed, and then watched Fatty's katana snap clean in half against a stone lantern he swore was standing somewhere else a second ago. He blamed the blade, the wine, the wind, the ghost of his father's smug swagger hovering just over his shoulder, anything but himself, because a Bobsticks admits fault the way a cat admits love. Legless Tom, ever the diplomat, only shrugged and poured another round, calling the whole spectacle
