Diary
Fatty Bobsticks will tell you, loudly and often, that he is nothing like Fat Bob, that whatever curse follows the old man follows him too but he wears it better, and the sake house crows did not care one bit about that distinction when they descended on him mid toast like feathered debt collectors sent by karma itself. He swung his cup, he swung his sleeve, he swung a bar stool that was not his to swing, and still they scattered his honor across the floor along with the rice wine and what remained of his dignity. Anyone else would call it a rug pull by nature itself, but Fatty insists it was strategic retreat, a tactical bow out from a fight beneath his lineage, the same way Fat Bob would have spun a loss into legend. Now he claims he wants the quiet life, the meditative mat, the empty room, the discipline his ancestors would recognize, and for almost four full minutes each morning he actually achieves it before the birds outside his window start up again and he is back to cursing feathers and pouring a lukewarm cup he swore he would not touch. He is his own man, he'll remind you, even as he loses the exact same battle his shadow always lost, just louder, drunker, and with worse posture.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Unglamorous and honest. The Black Peasant Sack fighters didn't dress for anyone else. They dressed for function and found that function is its own statement.
He exists in Fat Bob's extended universe — related, distinct, and absolutely exhausted by the comparison. Same build, same laugh, different problems. Do not, he begs you, get them confused.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Crow spirit, long nose, ancient power. The Tengu Mask fighters are wearing something that predates the Dojo — something older that chose to be here.
Found. Not forged. The Large Branch fighters don't wait for the right weapon — they use what's available and are surprised when this needs explanation.
