Under the bridge at Ryogoku, where the pigeons argue about nothing and the river smells like every bad decision ever made near water, Gloomy Masumi listened to The Degen Scholar explain probability theory as it applies to rug pulls, and somewhere in that lecture his katana simply gave up and snapped in half, which felt correct. He did not cry. He rarely cries, having done the math on tears and found them a poor return on emotional investment. What the blade left behind was a strange clean feeling, the kind monks describe right before they get robbed, and Masumi decided, staring at the two dumb halves of steel, that he would now pursue healthier pleasures, actual vegetables, actual sleep, maybe even actual joy. He has since replaced the katana with a green smoothie he does not finish and a commitment to discipline he breaks by lunchtime, and honestly, watching him try is the most hopeful thing anyone under that bridge has seen in years, which says more about the bridge than about him.
Simple. Carved. Someone made this by hand. The Wooden Loop fighters wear something made, not bought, and consider that a statement worth making.
