Diary
Junichiro had always graded the world in decimals, the tilt of a bow, the width of a stance, the shame in another man's eyes when he corrected them, and for years the harshest column on his ledger was reserved for himself. So when he finally stepped into the Fight Pits and traded blows with the old dojo master, some brittle thing in his chest cracked open and let the light in; he did not win cleanly, but he did not fold either, and that alone he scored as victory. Riding that new swagger like a green candle he cannot possibly hold, he has declared himself the authority on discipline for degenerates everywhere and started drafting the Degen Handbook, Chapter One titled 'Sit Up Straight While You Ape the Floor.' He edits each sentence eleven times, weighs every word like a katana strike, then ruins the effect by grading his own draft a 7 out of 10 and sulking about it for a week. Somewhere beneath the ink-stained pride is a first son still measuring himself against a father's ghost, hoping that if the handbook is perfect enough, the old failures will finally balance out.'
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Not a garment — a record. The Battle Scars clothing is what's left after everything else was stripped away. These fighters wear their history.
'Junichiro' — pure first son, the standard the others are measured against, usually by Junichiro himself. Flawless form, cleanest blade, a line that held because he'd sooner die than break it.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Clean but rough. The White Ruffian fighters look like they could have behaved properly and chose not to. The white makes the choice more visible.
Organization-issue. The Yakuza Club fighters have backup in the weight of the weapon itself — it carries institutional authority.
