Diary
Junichiro, first son of a lineage that once measured breath itself before a blade was drawn, had calculated the perfect ratio of wasabi to rice, to horse, to glory, the night before the ride that was meant to prove his discipline restored. He mounted with the posture of a man grading his own spine, then ate the wasabi in punishing, competitive spoonfuls, because lesser men sniffle and he refuses to be lesser, even at the cost of his own tear ducts. Somewhere between the third bite and the horse's first canter his vision went white, his dreams of disciplined greatness dissolved into a green-fumed haze, and he toppled off in a manner he privately scores as a four out of ten, generous only because the horse also seemed embarrassed for him. No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Lived-in color. The Warm Grey background belongs to fighters who have been through enough that their edges have softened without their core changing.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Sovereignty in fabric form. The Queeny Chic fighters dress with authority that was never granted by anyone else and therefore can't be revoked.
'Junichiro' — pure first son, the standard the others are measured against, usually by Junichiro himself. Flawless form, cleanest blade, a line that held because he'd sooner die than break it.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Movement made permanent. The Long Flowing fighters trail behind themselves in every room they enter — the hair arrives first, then the fighter.
Implies infirmity, delivers otherwise. The Wooden Walking Cane fighters move slower than expected and hit harder than prepared for.
