Diary
Raikou used to move like still water, the kind of samurai who could read a room before the door even opened, but sparring day he aped the entire family fortune on a single bout like it was a blue-chip flip, and the floor dropped out from under three generations of honor in about four seconds flat. Now he drifts through the dojo courtyard on stoner time, slow as incense smoke, mumbling something about how loss is just gains in disguise while his eyes stay redder than a rugged candlestick chart. He still swears he's rebuilding discipline, wakes up at dawn to meditate, gets three breaths in, remembers he's got a joint half-finished from the night before, and calls that mindfulness. Every so often the old lightning flickers back, one perfect strike out of nowhere that reminds everyone he was once a blade worth fearing, then he immediately trips over his own sandals and blames it on bad karma. Broken man, sure, but he'll tell you enlightenment was never about winning the bet, it was about vibing with the losing, man, and honestly the dojo just lets that one slide now.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Not a garment — a record. The Battle Scars clothing is what's left after everything else was stripped away. These fighters wear their history.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
On fire, stable. The Burning Basket fighters operate in conditions most find impossible and have stopped noticing the fire.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
