Raikou the Stoner was mid-parable, something about how liquidity and karma are basically the same chart, when Edmundo's fist arrived like an unscheduled hard fork and snapped his arm clean under a moon so full it looked aped into the sky at a premium. He didn't scream, exactly, he just exhaled a slow cloud of shock and vibes and said 'bro that's rugged' while looking at his own bone like it was a floor price he never wanted to see. Once upon a war he was disciplined enough to set that bone himself with a bamboo splint and a mantra, now he's disciplined enough to text three different sake bars asking who's open. He tells anyone who'll listen that pain is an illusion and grief is a candle you gotta let burn out naturally, then immediately orders a drink to help it burn faster. Somewhere between sunrise and the fourth cup he stops talking about enlightenment altogether and just stares at the moon, one good arm cradling the broken one, whispering 'still a good chart though' to absolutely nobody.
Worn as trophy or warning — nobody is quite sure which. The Chicken Bones fighters have a ceremony for everything and share it with no one.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Wealth made garment. The Money Kimono fighters wear their wins literally — the fabric is a record, not a boast.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
The disguise is the identity. The Degen Superhero glasses fighters have a secret — or maybe the secret is that there's no secret and they've always been exactly this.
Movement made permanent. The Long Flowing fighters trail behind themselves in every room they enter — the hair arrives first, then the fighter.
Not metaphorical. Someone's leg bone, spiked. The Spiky Femur fighters have been here long enough that the bones of their enemies are now equipment.
