Diary
Long before the haze, Raikou ran his crew like a shogun ran a province, every nod a decree, every silence a threat, discipline sharpened to a blade's edge. Then came the yakiniku night, smoke curling off the grill like incense at a shrine he'd long since stopped visiting, and he leaned across the table and blackmailed his oldest friend over a debt that was really just an excuse to feel powerful one more time. The meat kept sizzling, the friend kept sweating, and somewhere in Raikou's chest the last samurai in him quietly folded up his robes and went to sit in the corner. Now he just floats through life on a cloud of loose ash and looser vows, telling himself tomorrow he'll meditate at dawn instead of at 4:20, chase the floor instead of the vibe, honor instead of the bag. He takes a slow pull, stares at nothing, and whispers
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Every frequency visible. The Rainbow Kimono fighters contain multitudes and decided to wear them all at once rather than choose.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Named for an incident. The Sushi Fight fighters have a story about how they got this hairstyle. They don't tell the story. The hair does.
The poisonous pufferfish as a weapon. The Frightened Fugu fighters chose something lethal that looks absurd — and find that this is the most accurate description of themselves.
