Raikou The Stoner sits cross-legged on the dojo roof every single morning, meditating on the exact tile where he and Legless Tom once aped into a jug of rice wine like it was a blue-chip mint, and honestly, the universe has not let him forget it. He tells the young disciples that discipline is a river, man, it flows through you, but then he takes a long pull off his pipe and admits the river got rugged that night and he's basically been dry-panning for his honor ever since. There's a stillness in him, thick as incense smoke, right up until the memory hits, and then it's lightning fast, Tom's cackle, the roof tiles slick with spilled wine, sensei's sandals appearing in the doorway like a liquidation event. He still tries to fast some mornings, still tries to sit straight-backed and holy, but by noon he's rolling something and whispering
Decorative. Traditional. The Tassel fighters know that ornament and function are not opposites — presentation is part of performance.
Red moon, heightened stakes. The Red High Moon backgrounds mark the moments when everything was on the line and the fighter stayed.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Soft exterior. The Puppy Kimono fighters discovered that disarming presentation is its own strategy — you stop seeing the threat until it's too late.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
