Raikou used to move like still water, katana drawn only when the universe truly demanded it, but these days the only draw he respects is the one on his vape pen. He was deep into a plate of ribs with BBQ Ben at the Degen Dojo, chewing slow like a monk chewing on the meaning of samsara, when his phone lit up with the kind of text that rugs a man's whole spirit. One second he was preaching about karma and floor prices, the next he was standing on the table screaming at the ceiling fan like it owed him seed money and an apology. Ben just kept eating, sauce on his chin, watching his old war buddy short-circuit into a full degen lunatic before the bones even hit the plate. Raikou tried, for maybe four seconds, to breathe, center himself, remember the old discipline of the dojo, then he ordered three more beers and called it healing, because enlightenment can wait but heartbreak apparently cannot.
Not wearing a lizard. Being accompanied by one that made questionable choices. The Drunk Lizard accessory is the rarest in the collection for reasons nobody fully understands.
The rarest natural background. The Rising Sun fighters arrived first — before the floor was set, before the derug, before the community existed. They are the reason it exists.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The rarest clothing. The Muddy Kimono was clean once. What happened to it is the story — and the story is the Dojo.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
Still functional. Functionally broken. The Broken Glasses fighters see a cracked version of reality and have found it more honest than the uncracked one.
The Dojo wrote on it. The Degen Graffiti Rice Hat fighters carry the collection's mark on the highest point of their body.
Alive. Responsive. The Enchanted Snake fighters have a weapon with its own agenda, and the fighter and the snake have reached an understanding.
