Diary
Raikou used to move like a blade unsheathing, all discipline and silence, before the wars ended and left him staring at a life with no more enemies to cut. These days he says he's still on the path, just a slower one, paved with backwoods and bad decisions, and he floated into the shaman's lair chasing something between enlightenment and a good time, only to end up tangled with a circle of widows who apparently had their own dojo of chaos. His arm snapped clean during the festivities, a sound he swears sounded like the universe exhaling, and he just laughed through the pain like it was a lesson the cosmos personally mailed to him. He tried, for maybe four minutes, to recommit to bushido after that, meditating on the floor of the lair with his splinted arm propped up like some sacred artifact, before the widows brought snacks and his resolve rugged itself instantly. Now he just shrugs, packs another bowl with his good hand, and tells anyone who'll listen that pain is temporary but the vibes, my friend, the vibes are forever.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The red Oni rages where the blue Oni waits. The Red Oni Tattoo fighters run hot and they are at peace with this.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Crow spirit, long nose, ancient power. The Tengu Mask fighters are wearing something that predates the Dojo — something older that chose to be here.
