Diary
Raikou used to sit cross-legged on the wooden platform at Kiyomizu-Dera, exhaling slow and telling anyone who'd listen that discipline was just a state of mind he'd achieved through sheer vibes, and then he'd crack a joke about Itsuki's stiff little bow like the guy was some NPC monk who never touched a bong in his life. The universe, or maybe just karma running its own smart contract, rugged him on the spot. His purse, his koku, his whole bag, gone in the time it takes to blink, like the floor fell out from under a coin nobody should've aped into. Now he wanders the temple grounds mumbling half-koans about impermanence, laughing at clouds, occasionally lunging at pigeons he insists are past-life debt collectors. Deep down he still chases that old samurai stillness, the one before the wars and the weed and the wreckage, but he keeps getting distracted by how funny his own hands look when he waves them, and honestly, at this point, that's the closest thing to enlightenment he's got.
Whose bones? The fighter who wears them knows. They're not saying. The Finger Bones fighters operate on a level of commitment that most find uncomfortable.
Between midday and dusk. The Orange Afternoon fighters are in the middle of something — not finished, not starting, exactly where they need to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The name is the lore. The Poop Pride Kimono fighters have transcended embarrassment so completely that they wear the proof. Undefeated.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Organization meets chaos. The Yakuza Hooligan fighters have discipline from one tradition and abandon from another, and they've combined them into something entirely their own.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
