Raikou once swung a blade with the stillness of a mountain pond, but these days his dojo is a flickering alley in the red light district, floor mats swapped for floor prices, meditation swapped for staring dead eyed at a patch of grass like it holds the alpha of the universe. He tells anyone who'll listen that he was chasing enlightenment, the same slow breath, same discipline his old sensei drilled into him, except this time the breathing was mostly coughing and the discipline lasted about four seconds before a stranger's fist reminded him that grass talks back sometimes. Two teeth left his mouth that night, tumbling into the gutter like degen tokens rugged straight off the floor, and Raikou just grinned through the gap, blood and drool mixing with the kind of calm only a man who has truly stopped caring about outcomes can manage. He calls it the most thrilling meditation session of his life, proof that nirvana and getting rekt look identical from the outside. Somewhere his old master is weeping, watching a disciplined warrior become a toothless philosopher who still, bless him, keeps trying to find his center in the worst possible places.
Not contacts. Not paint. Something older. The Shaman Eyes fighters see through the collection at a frequency others can't access, and they've been doing it since before the derug.
The hour when most give up. The Blue Evening fighters are still at their desk, still watching the chart, still holding.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Armor assembled from tradition. The Tatami Tosei Gusoku fighters are protected by history — centuries of craft wrapped around the present moment.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
Fox face. The Kitsune Mask fighters wear the shapeshifter's face — which means every identity is available to them and none is fixed.
Named for the legendary fighter. The Red Heihachi fighters carry that name's weight in every match and find it light.
The other fish weapon. The Dead Fish fighters use something that smells like loss as a weapon — opponents are too confused to defend properly.
