Raikou aped into a solo pilgrimage up Mount Hotaka, figuring the thin air and old pine smell would sharpen him back into the sword-saint he used to be, but the trail had other plans. Somewhere around the second switchback his mind, unbothered by concepts like discipline, wandered clean off the honor-code and into a lush daydream about a girl from three villages back who once complimented his stance in a way that definitely wasn't about swordsmanship. He tried to meditate on bushido, on his ancestors, on the wind, but the wind just kept whispering her name back at him like a bad airdrop he couldn't unstake from.
