Diary
Azuma used to think enlightenment came slow, like rot spreading through a plank of good cedar, but the day he crossed blades with Ikari on that crowded street he learned it could also arrive like a gut punch from a man who never apologizes. Onlookers scattered, phones out, market stalls overturned, and somewhere between the third clash of steel and the smell of grilled eel burning unattended, something in him cracked open and let the light in wrong, curdled, poisoned at the edges. He walked away from that fight not victorious, not defeated, just different, the way a river is different after a factory moves upstream. Ever since, he's tried to rebuild the old samurai stillness, sitting in seiza each morning promising himself no drinking before noon and no ape-ing into some rugged meme coin before his tea cools, and every single morning he fails by 9am, cup in one hand, phone lighting up with red candles in the other. He tells people he found clarity that day on the street; what he actually found was the shape of his own decay, and he's been circling it, grinning, corrosive as ever, ever since.'
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Lived-in color. The Warm Grey background belongs to fighters who have been through enough that their edges have softened without their core changing.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Named for something specific. The Cet Kimono fighters know what they're wearing and why — the rest is for others to figure out.
Another east, but where Drooling Azuma's is the honest sunrise, Toxic's is where the reaction happens — the direction things curdle. Same name, entirely different chemistry.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Not born with them. Became them. The Grey Oni Horns fighters grew their nature slowly until it became structural.
Precious redirection. The Golden Sai fighters catch what's thrown at them and return it changed — in gold.
