Diary
Azuma never rises with the sun, he waits for it to make the first mistake, and at dawn over the docks of some nameless port the mistake arrived wrapped in fish bones and a stranger's wandering hand. He choked, properly choked, the kind of hacking that once would have shamed a disciplined blade-man raised on silence and posture, while some brazen fool's fingers found places they had no business finding. A lesser samurai might have drawn steel on principle. Azuma only smiled through the coughing, already tasting the slow poison he'd feed back tenfold, already grinning at how perfectly humiliating and delicious the whole ordeal was. He still tells himself he'll meditate at sunrise like the old masters, sit still, breathe right, reclaim some scrap of the discipline the wars took from him, but he keeps ending up like this instead, gagging on bones, groped by fate, utterly and disgustingly pleased with himself.'
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The standard-bearer. The Proud Dejen Kimono fighters represent the collection consciously — they know what they're part of and they dress accordingly.
Another east, but where Drooling Azuma's is the honest sunrise, Toxic's is where the reaction happens — the direction things curdle. Same name, entirely different chemistry.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Intentional declaration. The Mohawk Spike fighters made a choice that announces itself before they speak.
The weighted hook-blade on a rope. Distance and cutting in one weapon. The Heavy Kyoketsu fighters control range — nothing happens at a distance they didn't set.
