Diary
Azuma did not choose the Meiji Jungle so much as the mushrooms chose him, blooming purple under a canopy that hummed like a busted terminal, and somewhere between the third spore and the fifth he decided, with total chemical sincerity, that he would become honorable again. He saw his old sensei's face in the bark, heard the code of the blade in the cicadas, and swore off vice the way a man swears off gravity mid-fall, loud and doomed. For eleven glorious minutes he was a monk. Then the trip curdled the way his patience always does, slow and toxic, and he found himself back at camp arguing that honor is just a floor price for the soul, one he fully intends to buy the dip on someday. He calls himself wiser now, and maybe he is, in the specific sense that poison teaches respect only after it's already in your blood.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
The hour when most give up. The Blue Evening fighters are still at their desk, still watching the chart, still holding.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Organization ink made visible. The Black Yakuza Sleeves fighters belong to something — a code, a history — and they advertise their membership without speaking.
Another east, but where Drooling Azuma's is the honest sunrise, Toxic's is where the reaction happens — the direction things curdle. Same name, entirely different chemistry.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Focus made visible. The Karate Headband fighters bound their intention around their skull so it couldn't escape during the fight.
The magical longbow. The Runed Yumi fighters inscribed power into their range weapon — the runes are the reason the arrows find what they're looking for.
