Diary
They called him the poisonous east because Toxic Azuma never struck like sunrise, quick and clean, he struck like something already in your blood before you noticed the smell. Once he fought for glory before the shoji doors, blade singing, honor intact, until some nameless coward slipped the katana from his sheath mid-duel and vanished into the paper-thin dark, leaving Azuma holding nothing but the echo of his own name being cheered. He told himself he would train again, rebuild the discipline, reclaim the steel, but instead he opened a gambling den in the wreckage of that shame, dim-lit and reeking of cheap sake and cheaper decisions. Every night he vows this is temporary, a means to fund the search for his stolen blade, yet every night he's the one dealing crooked hands and pocketing the vig, discipline rotting slower and sweeter than any wound ever could. He still bows to the empty space where the shoji doors once framed his glory, calling it respect, though everyone at the tables knows it's just where the poison started.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Seasonal. Fleeting. Beautiful because it ends. The Autumn Sakura Kimono fighters understand that the things that don't last are what make things matter.
Another east, but where Drooling Azuma's is the honest sunrise, Toxic's is where the reaction happens — the direction things curdle. Same name, entirely different chemistry.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The farmer's crown. The Rice Hat fighters carry tradition on their head without ceremony — it's just what you wear when you have work to do.
Chain-sickle, aged. The Rusty Kusarigama fighters have been in more fights than maintenance sessions.
