Diary
Young Yuji swears the war is still going somewhere, maybe two towns over, maybe just behind his eyes, so he keeps swinging like the bell never rang, and that night in the alley he swings at Ikari until both their knuckles are singing the same broken song. Someone hands him a bottle after, the way someone always does when a kid mistakes exhaustion for peace, and he drinks it like it's the last drop of glory left on this earth. By the third pour he's not fighting anymore, he's floating, laughing at the moon, telling Ikari he loves him like a brother even as blood dries between them, and somewhere in that haze he decides, loudly, that he is finally free. He wakes at dawn on the cold stone with his sword unsheathed beside him and no memory of drawing it, another morning where the plan was discipline and the result was chaos, another L he'll ape straight past on his way to the next brawl. Free, he tells himself, rubbing his skull, still chasing a war that left without him and never once looked back.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The name is the lore. The Poop Pride Kimono fighters have transcended embarrassment so completely that they wear the proof. Undefeated.
Still becoming, and always will be — the wars ended before he got to finish. All promise and no scars, certain his great chapter was over the next hill. The hill turned out to be the last one.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Nothing hidden. No armor above the neck. The Bald fighters face everything without cover and consider this the only honest approach.
Not metaphorical. Someone's leg bone, spiked. The Spiky Femur fighters have been here long enough that the bones of their enemies are now equipment.
