Young Yuji never got his war, so he built one out of nerve endings and bad decisions, chasing a glory that packed up and left before he even arrived. Sleepless for six nights running on cheap sake and a half-eaten bag of shrooms, he wandered into the shaman's lair convinced that pain was just discipline wearing a scarier mask, and decided the fastest path to enlightenment was yanking his own teeth out with a rusted pair of pliers he'd aped off some street vendor. The shaman only watched, half amused, half horrified, as clumps of Yuji's hair came loose in his fists between screams, the kid swearing each bloody molar was a rep in some invisible training only he could see. By sunrise he looked like a man who'd lost a fight with a lawnmower, gums wrecked, scalp patchy, still grinning like he'd unlocked some secret level of bushido nobody else could floor him on. The Dojo elders took one look at the mess he'd become and rugged him on the spot, but Yuji just laughed through the gaps in his teeth, certain that real glory was still out there somewhere, sleepless and waiting for him to catch up.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The blue Oni does not rage. The blue Oni waits. The Blue Oni Tattoo fighters are the calmest ones in the room — which makes them the most dangerous.
