Young Yuji was born a beat too late for the last real war, and he has spent every sleepless night since trying to prove he would have been magnificent in it, katana singing, banners high, glory his by rights instead of a rumor he missed by inches. So when some sake-soaked idiot in Yoshiwara dared him to duel a ninja for the house's honor and half a purse of ryo, Yuji grinned like the war had finally come back around just for him. He lost, obviously, folded like paper by a shadow he never even saw move, and woke up with a black eye and a debt he had no discipline left to pay off honestly. Now he runs a filthy little gambling den in the same district, dealing crooked hands to drunks and calling it strategy, telling himself this is just another campaign, another battlefield, if you squint hard enough through the weed smoke and regret. Every dawn he swears tomorrow he trains again, sword drills at first light, real bushido, and every dawn he's still awake from the night before, chasing a war that already ended without him.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Hidden in plain sight. The Night Forest fighters do most of their work in the dark — not secretively, but quietly. They don't need an audience.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Still becoming, and always will be — the wars ended before he got to finish. All promise and no scars, certain his great chapter was over the next hill. The hill turned out to be the last one.

Nothing hidden. No armor above the neck. The Bald fighters face everything without cover and consider this the only honest approach.
The floor weapon. Everywhere. Common because common is honest — the Rusty Nail fighters know that what you find is often better than what you planned.
