Diary
Yuji The Wise once kept meticulous scrolls on troop movements and tea ceremonies alike, a man who believed every event deserved footnotes, so naturally he footnoted his own ruin as it happened at the shrine steps in Kyoto, murmuring wager odds like sutras while the family fortune left his hands one coin at a time. He tells it now with the detached cadence of a historian describing a war he personally lost, noting the exact moment the dice turned against him the way a scholar notes the fall of a dynasty, all context, no mercy. Every morning he vows to budget like the disciplined swordsman he used to be, journaling intentions in careful brushstrokes before promptly aping his lunch money into whatever local game promises redemption by sundown. He calls this his primary source material, insisting a true chronicler must live inside the chaos to document it honestly, which is a very generous way of saying he is still broke and still betting. Yuji the Wise lives one day at a time now, less by philosophy than by necessity, each sunrise a fresh unread chapter he is fairly certain will not end well, and he narrates it anyway, footnotes and all.
Theology made weapon-adjacent. The Golden Jesuit Crosses fighters have a philosophy and the crosses are its badge — precise, absolute, delivered with complete conviction.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Memento mori made fashionable. The Skull Kimono fighters remember what's at stake and wear the reminder so they never forget.
A fighter first and a thinker second — until the day he laughed with Haru in the streets and simply set the sword down for good. He calls it wisdom; some call it losing his nerve.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Practical. Focused. The Hair Bun fighters pulled back what was in their eyes so they could see the whole board.
Organization-issue. The Yakuza Club fighters have backup in the weight of the weapon itself — it carries institutional authority.
