📖 Yuji The Wise's Story

Yuji The Wise was a fighter first and a thinker second, until the day he laughed with Haru in the streets and something in him simply set down the sword and refused to pick it back up. He calls it wisdom. Some call it losing his nerve. The honest answer is that they are frequently the same thing, and Yuji is wise enough to admit it. When the wars ended he found he had a talent nobody needed on a battlefield, which was seeing the shape of things and writing them down. So now he sits inside the dojo and chronicles it, the fights, the fools, the slow beautiful decline of a room full of retired warriors, filing it all away for a book that may never have an ending because the dojo refuses to stop giving him chapters. He is the wise one. Wisdom, it turns out, is mostly just paying attention after everyone else stopped. He writes long, rigorous, genuinely wise treatises on the importance of discipline, which he then does not practice, on the grounds that someone has to document the theory.
