Diary
Yuji The Wise likes to note, for the record he keeps in a battered ledger no one asked for, that the incident began with proper form and ended with him spitting on a total stranger mid-battle against a ninja who had the audacity to invade his own quarters. He narrates it now with the detached wonder of a man reviewing a scroll written by someone dumber than himself, marveling at how quickly discipline dissolves into spit and chaos when steel starts flashing in your own tatami room. In the aftermath, humiliated by his own reflexes, he shaved his vices down to a nub and devoted himself to Buddha, certain that stillness and breath would finally out-perform bad instinct. Most mornings he sits in meditation with real intention, eyes closed, mind clear, right up until the exact second a floor price drops or a joint gets passed his way, at which point enlightenment excuses itself and chaos takes the wheel again. He forgives himself each time, jots the failure down for posterity, and calls it research, the wise having long since learned that the only thing more persistent than a ninja in your quarters is your own worst habits.
One tooth. The whole shark is implied. The Shark Tooth fighters don't need to explain what they've overcome — they wear the evidence.
Hidden in plain sight. The Night Forest fighters do most of their work in the dark — not secretively, but quietly. They don't need an audience.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Wealth made garment. The Money Kimono fighters wear their wins literally — the fabric is a record, not a boast.
A fighter first and a thinker second — until the day he laughed with Haru in the streets and simply set the sword down for good. He calls it wisdom; some call it losing his nerve.
Still functional. Functionally broken. The Broken Glasses fighters see a cracked version of reality and have found it more honest than the uncracked one.
The Dojo's samurai. The Dejen Samurai fighters carry the warrior tradition through the collection's own lens — ancient code, contemporary context.
The weighted hook-blade on a rope. Distance and cutting in one weapon. The Heavy Kyoketsu fighters control range — nothing happens at a distance they didn't set.
