Yuji The Wise once believed that words, like blades, should be sharpened in silence and drawn only with purpose, but somewhere between his third bowl and his fourth insult he forgot that lesson entirely, mocking a samurai's footwork in front of the whole Dojo as if he were narrating a comedy rather than living inside one. The samurai did not laugh. Yuji, ever the chronicler, now records his own convalescence with the same dry detachment he once reserved for ancient scrolls, noting in careful script the bruises, the wounded pride, and the suspicious amount of time he spends staring at the ceiling instead of meditating like he swore he would. He tells himself this stillness is discipline reclaimed, a scholar's patience, though anyone passing his mat can see it is mostly just a man too sore to stand and too proud to admit defeat. Still, he scribbles on, insisting that healing is simply research he has not yet finished analyzing.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
