Yuji The Wise once believed himself a chronicler first and a fighter only by necessity, a man who annotated other men's battles in the margins of his mind while sipping tea he told himself was medicinal. Then the ninja came slinking through the Dojo gardens like footnotes nobody asked for, and something in Yuji's carefully catalogued patience simply gave out, page by page, until he was swinging instead of scribbling. He won, technically, though the koi pond did not survive the encounter and neither did his reputation for zen composure. Now he strolls the grounds each morning with his chin tilted at a scholarly, insufferable angle, narrating his own footsteps aloud as though future generations depend on it, a proud man performing the discipline he can no longer actually practice. Ask him about humility and he will lecture you on it beautifully, then immediately take credit for inventing the concept himself.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
