Diary
There is a legend, whispered mostly by Yuuki himself, that a warrior forged his name in the dojo latrines, staring at a single blade of grass through the gap in the floorboards until it seemed to contain the whole meaning of bushido. Nobody remembers why he was there so long, least of all Yuuki, but the stillness he found in that grim little outhouse became the only discipline he ever truly mastered. These days the sword rests, the koan practice has been replaced by staring blankly at candle charts, and Yuuki has redirected all that hard-won focus into drafting the Degen Handbook, chapter one titled solemnly Ape First, Regret Later. He writes each rule with the same steady patience he once gave to that blade of grass, convinced that if he can just find the right words the floor will stop rugging him the way that latrine roof never did. Somewhere between chugging a lukewarm beer and rolling something questionable, he pauses, pen hovering, and admits with quiet heroism that this is, without question, the dumbest sacred text a former samurai has ever tried to write.dumbest
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The Dojo itself, worn. Whoever puts on the Degen Dojo Kimono becomes part of the institution — and the institution becomes part of them.
'Yuuki' means courage, earned the plain way: by stepping forward on the mornings every sane part of him voted to step back. Bravery, for him, was a decision made fresh each day.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Heavy. Absolute. The Black Iron Kabuto fighters chose protection over style and discovered that in the Dojo, this IS style.
Organization-issue. The Yakuza Club fighters have backup in the weight of the weapon itself — it carries institutional authority.
