Diary
Yuuki once carried honor the way other men carried swords, unsheathed and ready for anything, until the night in the red light district when he peeled his kimono off in front of a crowd that had only asked for directions. He tells it now like a battle report, chin up, voice level, as though stripping down to his fundoshi outside a noodle stall was a tactical maneuver rather than three cups of sake and a dare he lost to himself. He knows better now, he says, the way a man says he's quit weed while holding a lighter, and every dojo morning he vows to fold his kimono with the same precision he once folded battle banners, a small losing war against his own hands. Some days he manages it, sash straight, sleeves aligned, a monument to discipline that lasts exactly until someone mentions the district again and his shoulders start drifting toward his ears. Still, when the bell rings, that same reckless steadiness that got him naked in public gets repurposed into something almost noble, the quiet, absurd courage of a man who will charge anything, even his own bad decisions, without blinking.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Between midday and dusk. The Orange Afternoon fighters are in the middle of something — not finished, not starting, exactly where they need to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Wealth made garment. The Money Kimono fighters wear their wins literally — the fabric is a record, not a boast.
'Yuuki' means courage, earned the plain way: by stepping forward on the mornings every sane part of him voted to step back. Bravery, for him, was a decision made fresh each day.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Named for the legendary swordsman. The Flowing Battousai fighters carry the name of the fastest draw in the collection's lore — and the hair confirms they take this seriously.
Repurposed. Made for the earth, used for the fight. The Farmers Hoe fighters don't distinguish between cultivation and combat.
