Diary
Yuuki once charged into burning castles for his lord without blinking, and that same unblinking nerve, having no wars left to spend itself on, now goes toward rigging a tripwire across his master's doorway in the family home. He tells himself it is a lesson in humility, a small correction for an old man who still corrects him too much, and he tells himself this with the calm of someone who has clearly thought it through, which he has not. The wire catches his own ankle first, the floorboard meets his hand second, and his finger bends into a shape that no dojo ever taught him. He sits there cradling it, listening to his master's slow, delighted laughter from the next room, and decides with total sincerity that tomorrow he will plan better, be better, ambush better, the same vow he has made and broken every week since the wars ended. Discipline, he figures, is just another opponent he keeps underestimating, and he raises his good hand to it in a small, aching salute.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The dragon lives on the body now. The Dragon Head Tattoo fighters carry their ambition on the surface — it's not hidden, and it's not a metaphor.
'Yuuki' means courage, earned the plain way: by stepping forward on the mornings every sane part of him voted to step back. Bravery, for him, was a decision made fresh each day.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Not born with them. Became them. The Grey Oni Horns fighters grew their nature slowly until it became structural.
Not defensive. Offensive. The Floral Parasol fighters weaponized elegance — opponents hesitate before striking something that looks like it shouldn't be there.
