Diary
Yuuki once carried a blade the way other men carried grudges, quiet, precise, always ready, and when the wars dried up he went looking for a new battlefield worthy of that same steady nerve. He found it, absurdly, in the perfumed dim of a whorehouse, where he squared up against Raiku the Stoner and delivered a slap so clean, so disciplined in form, that witnesses swore it echoed like a sword draw. He counted it a training exercise, the way old masters once counted forms in the dojo, and he walked out feeling sharper, taller, faintly ridiculous, and entirely victorious. These days that same unbothered courage runs a dirty gambling den, where he polices dice games with the calm of a man guarding a castle gate, still trying, failing, and trying again to turn chaos into something resembling honor. He tells himself it counts as discipline. It does not, but he says it with such a straight face that everyone, including Raiku, still nods along.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Between midday and dusk. The Orange Afternoon fighters are in the middle of something — not finished, not starting, exactly where they need to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Maximum exposure by choice. The Nudey Freak fighters are not unclothed by accident — they made a considered decision and stand by it in all weather.
'Yuuki' means courage, earned the plain way: by stepping forward on the mornings every sane part of him voted to step back. Bravery, for him, was a decision made fresh each day.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The Dojo wrote on it. The Degen Graffiti Rice Hat fighters carry the collection's mark on the highest point of their body.
The other fish weapon. The Dead Fish fighters use something that smells like loss as a weapon — opponents are too confused to defend properly.
