Yuuki once measured his worth in disciplined katas and silent bows, but these days his courage gets rerouted into far stupider battles. He wandered into the main Buddhist temple certain he could out-charm, out-drink, and out-flirt every soul inside, riding the kind of confidence usually reserved for men about to lose everything. He lost something, alright, though not his life or his honor, just his clean bill of health, aped straight into a fling he was in no way equipped to survive with grace. Monks chanted somewhere behind him while he stood there scratching at consequences he had absolutely earned, and instead of shame he felt strangely, stupidly triumphant, like a man who rugged himself and still called it a win. He still tries, every week, to return to discipline, meditation at dawn, herbal tea instead of sake, and every week he fails in the same steady, wry, quietly heroic way, content that at least his failures now come with a great story attached.
