On Mount Koriyoka, in the gray hour before the tea ceremony, Yuuki drew his blade with the same steady hand that once held a war banner, and put it clean through a rat that had the audacity to run near a daimyo's wife's sandal. The insult that left his mouth in that same breath, something about her husband's taste in silk, was not strategy, was not honor, was just a man who used to plan sieges now improvising nonsense because the wars left him nothing worth planning. He tells himself, every morning over lukewarm sake, that today will be the day he becomes disciplined again, meditative, sharp, a monk of small victories, and every evening finds him aped into another dice game he swore he'd quit. The rat, at least, he handled with the old precision, a flicker of the warrior he buried somewhere between the last battlefield and the first bad bet. Yuuki lives one day at a time now, mostly because remembering yesterday's shame and tomorrow's promises at once would be too much for a man whose greatest recent triumph was a rodent and a ruined dinner party.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Not quite there yet. The Warlock Wannabe fighters are in the process of becoming something more — and the gap between aspiration and arrival is where they live.
'Yuuki' means courage, earned the plain way: by stepping forward on the mornings every sane part of him voted to step back. Bravery, for him, was a decision made fresh each day.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Intentional declaration. The Mohawk Spike fighters made a choice that announces itself before they speak.
Patience as weapon. The Noose fighters don't rush — they set the conditions and wait for the opponent to walk into them.
