Yuuki once carried himself like a blade sheathed in silence, the kind of samurai who could hold a secret the way a mountain holds snow, but somewhere between the last war and the first jug of sake he discovered he was, in fact, a gossip of world-historical caliber. It happened at the pleasure house, where he traded a client's private shame for a round of drinks and a laugh, and watched his honor float away like a rugged token nobody wanted to catch. Now he tells anyone who'll listen that he's questing for a quieter life, humble, monk-like, off the floor entirely, and then narrates the entire quest to three strangers at the tea stall before noon. He still has the old courage, steady and real, but he's rerouted it toward absurd little battles: staring down a gambler twice his size just to whisper
