Diary
Fuzen had killed men for less than the sum he lost that night in the whorehouse, where Fred's snake struck fast and quiet, its venom draining his fortune before he could reach for a blade. He is patient about it, the way a contract is patient; he simply has not finished the job of getting even, and he never leaves a job unfinished. So he wanders now from teahouse to gambling den, asking anyone with grey in their beard what a broke assassin ought to do with his future, listening with the flat calm of a man taking notes for later. The old discipline whispers that he should meditate, save his coin, sharpen his edge; Fuzen nods, agrees completely, then apes the last of his silver on a dice throw that even a child could see was rigged. Somewhere out there Fred still breathes, and somewhere in Fuzen's ledger there is a line that has not yet been crossed out.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Lived-in color. The Warm Grey background belongs to fighters who have been through enough that their edges have softened without their core changing.
Worn by the 42 Framed and no one else. A Dojocho (道場長) runs the dojo, and red is the belt you stop counting toward. Framed cards never crack, so this one never comes off.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
No clothing needed. The Shirtless Runt fighters removed every layer between themselves and the fight. Maximum exposure. Maximum honesty.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Elevated tradition. The High Straw Rice Hat fighters dress high above their own heads — everything they do is reaching upward.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,468 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The blade that shows off. The Golden Katana fighters know gold is too soft for real war and carry it anyway — the wars ended, the vanity stayed.
