Assassin Fuzen came to the main temple seeking the old stillness, the discipline he'd once sharpened like a blade before the wars ended and left him with nothing to cut. He knelt in the courtyard, breath slow, contract with silence pending as always, when the pigeons descended like a debt collector who finally found his address. Feathers, screeching, a monk fleeing his own shrine, and somewhere in the chaos three degens howling with laughter and lobbing rice crackers to make it worse on purpose. Fuzen did not draw steel. He simply sat there, unbothered, cataloguing the absurdity the way he catalogues every unfinished job, and found the birds' aggression oddly familiar, oddly comforting, a little contract of violence that would never quite close. By the time the monks restored order the degens had already claimed him as a friend, and Fuzen, discipline in ruins yet again, decided this too could wait.”
Worn as trophy or warning — nobody is quite sure which. The Chicken Bones fighters have a ceremony for everything and share it with no one.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Memento mori made fashionable. The Skull Kimono fighters remember what's at stake and wear the reminder so they never forget.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Formal vision. The Spectacles fighters approached clarity with the same seriousness they bring to everything else — completely.
The warrior and the wanderer. Worn by those who are between destinations but never between fights.
Not metaphorical. Someone's leg bone, spiked. The Spiky Femur fighters have been here long enough that the bones of their enemies are now equipment.
