He watched the fog swallow the horizon and wondered, in that same flat unhurried voice he uses for marks, whether tomorrow would finally be the day he closes out on himself, gets clean, gets sharp, gets back to the man in the woodblock prints. It won't be today. But Fuzen has never missed a deadline he actually cared about, and somewhere beneath the weed haze and the busted floor price of his own self-respect, the ledger stays open, waiting.
