Diary
They named him Fat Bob before he ever earned it, back when he was just a chubby kid swinging a bokken too big for his arms, and somewhere along the way he stopped fighting the name and started living up to it with tragic enthusiasm. The shrine job should have been his redemption arc, the sacred contract that would finally prove the old sensei's warnings wrong, but Fat Bob aped into blackmail instead, leaning on his own friend for a payout because discipline is expensive and vice rent is due monthly. He tells the story now with a wheezing laugh, like watching his own honor get rugged in real time was somehow the punchline he'd been building toward his whole life. Underneath the belly laugh and the bad knees there's still a blade that moves faster than a man his size should ever manage, quiet and precise, the last true thing the old dojo left in him. So he keeps showing up to whatever's floor level of honor is left, telling himself this is the season he claims it back, one shameful debt and one broken promise at a time, still swinging that bokken too big for his arms, still somehow standing when the dust clears.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The name is the lore. The Poop Pride Kimono fighters have transcended embarrassment so completely that they wear the proof. Undefeated.
The most accurate names arrive from someone else — and Fat Bob's did, unkindly, long ago. He's spent every fight since proving whoever it was had a point.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Nothing hidden. No armor above the neck. The Bald fighters face everything without cover and consider this the only honest approach.
Implies infirmity, delivers otherwise. The Wooden Walking Cane fighters move slower than expected and hit harder than prepared for.
