They called him Fat Bob before he ever earned a single scar, and somewhere in the marrow of him he decided the only honorable path was to become exactly what the name promised, so he did, with gusto and zero regrets. Back when he still wore the discipline of the dojo like a second skin, he swore he'd train lean, meditate daily, sip green tea and nothing stronger, but the wars ended and the floor fell out from under every promise he ever aped into. It was deep summer, the kind of heat that melts resolve like cheap wax, when Fred's snake sank its fangs into his forearm during some half-drunk dare that started as a bet and ended as scripture, and Bob just laughed, poured sake on the wound like it was a blessing, and let the venom cook whatever sanity remained. The village called it foolish, his old sensei would've called it rugged behavior unbecoming a swordsman, but Bob wore the bite like a medal, grinning through the fever, earning a strange crooked favor from the gods of chaos themselves. Now he trains half a rep, eats a whole feast, mutters about getting serious again tomorrow, and everyone who's seen him swing a blade after three cups of shochu knows the lunatic bitten that day never really left, he just got fatter, funnier, and somehow twice as dangerous.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Organization ink made visible. The Black Yakuza Sleeves fighters belong to something — a code, a history — and they advertise their membership without speaking.
The most accurate names arrive from someone else — and Fat Bob's did, unkindly, long ago. He's spent every fight since proving whoever it was had a point.
