They called him Fat Bob before he ever earned it, back when he was lean as a katana blade and twice as sharp, but a man spends thirty years getting laughed at for a name and eventually he just apes into the bit. So there he was on Degens Path, three sake deep and philosophically committed to shedding his kimono like a snake shedding regret, when the silk caught wrong and took a nipple clean off with it, a real rug pull if there ever was one. Fat Bob just stood there half naked and bleeding, laughing so hard the wound barely registered, because what is discipline anyway if not the thing you lose piece by piece until you're just vibes and scar tissue. He tried, genuinely tried, to pick the kimono back up and fold it properly like his old sensei taught him, but his hands were shaking from the sake and the joy of it all, so he just left it there in the dirt like a shed skin, a monument to another failed attempt at composure. Somewhere his ancestors wept, and somewhere else Fat Bob grinned, one nipple lighter and infinitely more free, floor price be damned.
