Diary
They called him Fat Bob before he ever earned it, and the man spent thirty years proving the name right one dumpling at a time, one betrayal at a time. On the tatami mats where his family once knelt in unbroken lines of honor, Bob sold them out for a debt he can't even remember the number of anymore, and somehow that treachery made him a legend instead of a ghost. Funny how that works, he'll tell you between bites, laughing the way only a man who has truly lost everything can laugh, soft belly shaking, eyes sharp as the blade he swore he'd never draw again. Now he stands on street corners selling himself, whatever that means on any given Tuesday, hawking his own legend to anyone with yen and no sense, promising discipline classes he never shows up to teach. Every morning he vows to fold his sleeping mat properly, to bow before breakfast like the old dojo taught him, and every morning he fails beautifully, chuckling at himself, dangerous as ever underneath all that soft, sorry fat.
Not contacts. Not paint. Something older. The Shaman Eyes fighters see through the collection at a frequency others can't access, and they've been doing it since before the derug.
Red moon, heightened stakes. The Red High Moon backgrounds mark the moments when everything was on the line and the fighter stayed.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The organization runs deep. The Yakuza Tattoo Sleeve fighters have commitments that predated the Dojo and will outlast it.
The most accurate names arrive from someone else — and Fat Bob's did, unkindly, long ago. He's spent every fight since proving whoever it was had a point.
Still functional. Functionally broken. The Broken Glasses fighters see a cracked version of reality and have found it more honest than the uncracked one.
Intentional declaration. The Mohawk Spike fighters made a choice that announces itself before they speak.
Used and not cleaned. The Bloody Nunchucks fighters are efficient — cleaning was someone else's job and they had the next fight to prepare for.
