Diary
Fat Bob earned his name the honest way, one dumpling at a time, and spent the rest of his life proving the universe right about it. Once he was disciplined enough to hold a stance for an hour without flinching, but these days the only stance he holds is slouched under a bridge, three sake deep, philosophizing to pigeons about impermanence and rug pulls. When some stranger got handsy in the dark thinking Fat Bob was too mellowed out to notice, the old bushido reflexes flickered awake for one glorious, disgusting second, and he answered not with steel but with a wet, thunderous loogie that landed with the precision of a man who once could split bamboo mid air. It should have ended there, discipline restored, dignity reclaimed, but instead he just laughed so hard he fell into the river, proving once again that true degens never let honor get in the way of a good bit. Somewhere his old sensei is weeping, and somewhere else, Fat Bob is already aping into the next questionable decision, floor be damned.”
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Between midday and dusk. The Orange Afternoon fighters are in the middle of something — not finished, not starting, exactly where they need to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
No clothing needed. The Shirtless Runt fighters removed every layer between themselves and the fight. Maximum exposure. Maximum honesty.
The most accurate names arrive from someone else — and Fat Bob's did, unkindly, long ago. He's spent every fight since proving whoever it was had a point.
The Dojo itself, rendered on glass. The Dojo Graffiti fighters see everything through the collection's own aesthetic — they can't separate themselves from it.
On fire, stable. The Burning Basket fighters operate in conditions most find impossible and have stopped noticing the fire.
Implies infirmity, delivers otherwise. The Wooden Walking Cane fighters move slower than expected and hit harder than prepared for.
