They called him Fat Bob before he'd earned it, back when he was still lean enough to argue, and somewhere along the way he stopped arguing and started proving them right, one bowl of rice and one bad bet at a time. It was Igor who dragged him into the dice circle behind the Dojo, promising it was just for fun, just this once, and Fat Bob found his true calling there among the clatter of bones and the smell of weed smoke curling past the old training racks where his sword used to hang. He discovered he had a gift, an honest to gods talent for losing everything he owned with a smile so wide you'd think he'd won, jovial even as his coin purse wept and shrank to nothing. He tells himself tomorrow he'll fast, meditate, pick the blade back up and remember who he was before the dojo became a den, but tomorrow smells like fried dumplings and Igor's got the dice warm already. He has never been more miserable, and somehow, laughing through it, never felt more like himself.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
