Diary
They didn't call him Fat Bob because he asked nicely, they called him that in some backroom dojo years ago and he spent a whole samurai career trying to disprove it before deciding, somewhere around his second bowl of shrooms at the Kyoto yakiniku, that fighting fate was more exhausting than just leaning into the belly laugh. The mushrooms were supposed to be a quiet ritual, a little offering to the old discipline gods before dinner, but instead the grill turned into a shifting kaleidoscope of samurai ghosts roasting their own swords and Bob stood up mid-course to bow to a plate of short rib like it owed him tribute. The owner still brings it up, the way Bob wept apologizing to a pepper grinder, the way he tried to seppuku a napkin out of sheer misplaced honor. He tells people now he's just looking for a quieter life, low lights, soft jazz, maybe herbal tea instead of chaos, but anyone who's seen him order
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Red moon, heightened stakes. The Red High Moon backgrounds mark the moments when everything was on the line and the fighter stayed.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Kept from the harvest. The Dried Straw fighters dress in what's left after everything useful has been taken — and have discovered this is plenty.
The most accurate names arrive from someone else — and Fat Bob's did, unkindly, long ago. He's spent every fight since proving whoever it was had a point.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Broad shade, broad vision. The Wide Kasa Fisherman fighters cover more ground with their hat than most cover with their plans.
The floor weapon. Everywhere. Common because common is honest — the Rusty Nail fighters know that what you find is often better than what you planned.
